I am in my early forties and am feeling a bit lost about my future, in particular about my career, my position in the workplace, my calling/purpose in life, etc. I have been a fan of Ming Lok’s writing and radio show for quite some time and knew that she is now practicing as a life coach. So I decided to see her in hope of getting some advice from her. I met her for three sessions.
My experience with Ming Lok was rewarding and thought-provoking. During the process, it was mostly I who was talking and Ming Lok would listen to me attentively and patiently. Although it seems she didn’t say a lot and neither did she give me advice directly, once she said something, it was always right to the point and the questions she asked and the homework she gave me after each session always inspired me and motivated me to think over the questions carefully and seriously.
Talking with Ming Lok forced me to reflect upon my bottom lines, concerns, interests, values, etc. and challenged me to confront the difficult questions in life which I have been avoiding but knew I would have to deal with eventually (better earlier than later). She helped me to know and understand myself better. The homework also encouraged me to really take action to achieve my goals. I felt more solid and fulfilled after doing the homework. I gained an insight into my dilemma through this coaching experience.
Ming Lok is alert, clear-headed, and is able to read between the lines and extract the essence and the most important issue in my chaotic and confusing expression of thoughts and then ask questions that are straight to the point. She pushes you to think for yourself the answers for your questions and issues. She does so in a positive and wise way which makes you feel challenged but not offended. I highly recommend Ming Lok as a life coach and am grateful for her guidance during the sessions.
