As a non-swimmer, I am always very skeptical about going into water. When I first signed up for the life coaching offered by Ming Lok, all I could see was the big blue ocean without an end. I didn't know where I was heading to; I wasn't sure if I would be brave enough to step into the water; I was clueless about how the journey would be like. As insecure as I was, Ming Lok appeared like a life-saving guard giving you the courage and confidence that you need to start swimming, making sure that she would be there in case you struggle.
Ming Lok always told me, "I cannot walk for you, but I can walk with you". She kept her promise throughout our journey. I still remember the day when we met for the first time. I could feel her warmth and compassion even through the screen. I really enjoyed her pragmatic way of guiding me. After a few sessions, I gained some new insights about my problems. With some practical exercises, I began to swim. I couldn't believe that I could actually swim.
Ming Lok has not only helped me deal with my perfectionism which greatly affected the quality of my life, but also ignited the creative self that I have missed for long. The Zentangle creation has brought me more than just some peace of mind. I have found some new ways dealing with myself and my daily routine. Even though I got tired and lost from time to time, with the guidance of Ming Lok, I didn't feel like giving up.
At the end of the last session, I felt like I was much more comfortable with the currents around me. I still don't know where I am heading to, but the image of resting at the floating platform looking at the distance that I swam and the light on the other side of the picture is motivating enough to keep me going. I sincerely thank Ming Lok for accompanying me on the way.
